Disco Shed w/ Mr Thing & Mighty Atom

The Disco Shed Soundsystem is coming back to EC2 this April with a musical pioneer in the form of scratch king, DJ Mr Thing. Known popularly as Mr Thing, Marc Bowels is a founding member of Scratch Perverts, he is a world DMC champion with and without the Perverts and has long been regarded as one of the pioneers of the 90s UK hiphop sound!

This supreme disc jockey first started djing in 1987. He said recently- “the first hip-hop record I bought was Streetsounds CrucialElectro, first import 12" was BDP "Poetry", first actual record was ... (cringing) Adam & The Ants "Kings Of The Wild Frontier". From these humble beginnings Mr Thing went on to become one the worlds finest DJ’s and we can’t wait to have him with us in THE SHED!!

This month, we are lucky to be welcoming not only one, but 2 headliners, the 2nd of which is Mighty Atom. Mighty Atom is one of a rare breed of DJs who can blow crowds away with technical skill, and at the same time destroy a dance floor with an innate understandingof what a good party needs. He creates shows that are dynamic and exciting, drawing in the best music from genres as diverse as Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, House, Jungle and Trap and re-imagining them into an hour long live remix, he’s exactly what we need on warm August weekend in East London and guess what, that’s what we’ve got!!

Joining them on the night will be Disco Shed resident all-stars headed up by Count Skylarkin and peepshow paddy but all bringing in a mix of musical flavours. So, pack your dancing shows and get on down to The Book Club!
