Have you ever settled down to re-watch that classic picture, 8 Mile, and thought “this rap battle lacks classical music”? Of course you have, and so have we.
Accordingly, you are invited to inaugural event of the season: Mozart in the Urban Jungle, a classical music open mic night with battles, booze and perhaps even a rogue bassoon.
Hosted by the Ghost of Mozart, musicians will be invited to perform just 5 minute sets on the torrid themes of: ardour, despair, joy and loathing. You shall choose the victor of each round, and the impoverished musician in question will be offered a bottle of wine and a bow from the Ghost himself.
You don’t have to be a member of the Royal Opera for a front row seat, you just have to be a distinguished member of the Book Club.
There’s a £100 cash prize for the winning musician on the night!
