After the summer break, Hammer & Tongue is back at The Book Club for a new season of the finest live poetry and spoken word. Combining headline feature sets from some of the best poets/mcs in the UK with an open mic slam that feeds into the country's biggest Poetry Slam event, H&T is the place to be for your weekday edutainment.
This month features the brilliant talents of: Awate: writer and performer from Camden. His work has garnered praise from Kanye West, Idris Elba and Frankie Boyle. His latest album with DJ Turkish was described on BBC 1Xtra as "60's rap"
Emma Joliffe: poet and drama teacher from Brixton. Since the summer of 2011 she has been writing and performing her rollercoaster rhymes that bring characters and stories lyrically to life. Playing gigs, festivals and slams across the country, and appearing on Channel 4’s Random Acts, she has left audiences laughing and sometimes crying as she explores the exciting space between theatre and poetry.
