After over a year of great Sunday parties at The Book Club in Shoreditch, Jazz re:freshed returns East this August Bank Holiday to present a Room4Movement Bank Holiday Special. To mark the occasion we’ve invited two of our favourite and most soulful selectors along for the ride, in the form of Dego (2000Black / 4hero) and a special visit from Seiji.
These two artists were key parts of the west London Brokenbeat scene and their involvement in the Co-op parties of the late 90s and early 2000s is legendary.
In our opinion Dego is a bonafide musical genius and one of London’s current and most relevant musical pioneers. Dego’s music has always been defined by a maverick sensibility, and a restless search for new directions which he brings to the dance floor.
Joining us from Berlin will be Seiji. A founding father of Brokenbeat legends Bugz in the Attic, Seiji is famed for his incredible remixes of Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu & Quantic as well as fusing a host of soulful sounds with hard beats you can expect him to be bringing the heat to our Shoreditch basement this bank holiday.
As always the Jazz re:freshed DJ's will be joining the dots between Jazz, Soul, Electronica, Brokenbeat, Hip-Hop and more. putting Jazz & Jazz related music back onto the dance floor.
