This NYE, expect a carnival of sights and sounds as The Book Club transforms into a futuristic temple, dedicated to the sights and sounds of electronic party music.

For heads down drinking and dancing, descend into the depths of the ‘Temples Tomb’ (basement club) to find a lavish world of Neon, sound tracked by Bristol based DJ Die (XL Records / GutterFunk), Sharda (aka Murlo), Selby (Cirque Du Soul & Gin & Juice) and Book Club residents.

Headline selector, DJ Die has continued to be an innovator, ignoring rules and tradition in favour of creating a new alchemy via his expansive range of influences and unfaltering vision of the future. ‘It’s all subject to vibes’ - the mantra he applies to his label Gutterfunk is certainly one that will be used to great effect bringing some GREAT BIG New Years Eve vibes to basement club.

Upstairs on the ground floor Meltout Crew (Represent Radio), will be bringing their own eclectic brand of tropical delights to the night, from Disco, to hip hop, garage to grime, funk to bass music and putting your dancing shoes through their paces.

On top of all this, expect confetti, air horns, face painters, dancers, festival décor, giveaways and more.

Artists Info:

DJ Die:

The Bristol-based artist is a pioneer of electronic music. He has released music on seminal UK labels XL Recordings, Talkin’ Loud, Full Cycle and now heads up the incomparable GutterFunk label.

DJ Die has continued to be an innovator, ignoring rules and tradition in favour of creating a new alchemy via his expansive range of influences and unfaltering vision of the future.

Die is a man whose passion for discovering and creating new music knows no bounds and it is this passion that has lead him to focus on his stable Gutterfunk, a record label and creative hub that includes producers, DJ and artists. The label is not genre specific and concentrates on the mantra: ‘It’s all subject to vibes’.

His current collaborators and projects include an ongoing partnership with Dismantle as DieMantle, a partnership with Addison Groove and of course his Bristol Boogie project known as Sure Thing.

Sharda:

-Spring 2018 sees a long-awaited debut EP on Murlo’s Coil Records imprint from bassline prodigy Sharda. Brought into the spotlight via Murlo’s own DJ sets a few years back, Sharda has always remained an elusive character – no photos, no interviews, no social media – just a Soundcloud page and a steady stream of outrageous club tracks.

Sharda EP represents the artist’s boldest and most ambitious work yet. Across four outlandish new tracks, he dives straight into a wicked melting pot of piano house, speed garage and classic jungle hardcore, concluding with riotous, happy hardcore smash ‘Nobody Else’, featuring regular Murlo collaborator Gemma Dunleavy.
