After an awesome birthday shindig at The Book Club, which saw Tash LC & Mina funkin’ up our basement club, Peanut Butter Funk is back this April for our second instalment of 2018!
This time we’re bringing along two of our favourite DJs in the form of Al Zanders & Radar Radio’s Terry Juarez! London based Al Zanders will bring a disco edge to proceedings with the Wold Music Records and Phonica affiliate digging deep to bring the Afro Disco sound. In support will be Rada Radios Terry Juarez, bringing you limb shaking riddims from the tropics. Having cut his teeth playing dancehall parties in Manchester as part of the Murkage Cartel, his sound has become increasingly multifarious through various trips to Latin America and Africa. Whilst dancehall still forms the foundation of his style, you can expect to hear a range of sounds from across the globe.
Expect strictly positive vibes from this lineup of local talent! We can't wait for them to raise the temperature on our basement dance floor as our ever present residents joined them on the night!
As with all PBF events we will be celebrating a mixture of global sounds present, past and future from the Caribbean, South American and African continents, always celebrating and never appropriating, as well as exploring the outer peripheries of global disco, funk, soul, highlife, dub, hip-hop, broken beat and beyond.
